All I can say is “WOW!”

I was so impressed with the quality of this dress-up item. It is made from a heavy fabric, has real cloth covered buttons, and is super durable. This is not the typical dress up item, made from cheap, fabrics that fray, pill, or tear out after only a few times playng with them. This is top quality! My kids love it and play with it often. It has been a great addition to their kitchen and food playsets, and it has inspired hours of imaginative play! Would recommend to anyone.

Cute Play Costume

I got this costume for my son, for Christmas. This outfit is so cute. I was happy to find the Melissa and Doug play costumes. My son loves to dress up, but you can not find boy dress up clothes in the stores, unless it is a halloween costume. (Most of those costumes are the cheap plastic, that will crack and tear.) The costume is sewn very nicely, and my son will have lots of fun time playing.

Size – My son is 4 1/2 years old, and average size. It fits him, but I’m sure he will only get a year worth of play out of this costume, before he out grows it.

Got the chief set for my grandson for Christmas. It is good quality and is fun to use. I was going to sew one for him but this was about the same in cost by time I got done. Would recommend.

Here are the materials you will need for this Strawberry Shortcake craft.

Walnuts with their shells on (one walnut per strawberry)

Red paint

Paintbrush

Green felt

Thin ribbon

P.V.A. or strong craft glue

Scissors

Black marker (optional)

The original thing that you need to do for this Strawberry Shortcake craft is to paint the walnuts red and then set them isolated to dry. While they are drying you want to have the kids do it or do it yourself, cut out little cross shapes from the green felt (one for each strawberry). Make a little hole in the middle of each cross.

Now with the ribbon you want to make a loop and place the ends of the loop in the hole that you just made in the felt. This will be what they use to hang it with (this is for the strawberry ornament). Now you want to check the walnuts to make sure that they are dry. Now is the time to glue the leaves (green felt cutouts) to the top of the strawberry (walnut). Now the only thing left to do for this cute Strawberry Shortcake ornamentation is to add little black dots to it with the marker. This will give it a more realistic look.

Now all there is left to do is to hang your Strawberry Shortcake ornamentation anyplace that you want to. These make great gifts for parents too if they wish to give them as such. Kids will love putting these cute crafts together.

Most of the young boys tend to like Thomas the Tank Engine, the little engine that does so much by himself or with the others. The older kids and adults think he’s just a cute little train, but the younger ones love him. The next time you have a party for the little ones, they may make their own Thomas the Tank Engine using just paper (preferably construction), scissors, glue, and crayon or markers.

After you print the template, the children will have to color the pieces according to the following color scheme:

o #1 red on the bottom and gray on top

o #2 blue

o #3 and #4 black

o #5 and #6 black on the inside and yellow on the rim

o #7 gray

After all pieces have been colored, cut them out. The children may need adult supervision for this and may be done prior to craft time. If you do cut them before coloring, place a roll of masking tape on the back and tape lightly to a newspaper or other paper surface.

You might want to consider doing one of the projects before you try to do one with various young kids so that they may see what it will look like when it is finished. The steps to completion are as follows:

o Glue #2 on top of #1

o Glue #3 on top of #2

o Glue #4 beneath #2

o Glue #5 and #6 on each side of #3

o Glue #7 on top of the everything

You may do this craft as portion of a party or just as something for the children to do when they can not be outside.

Although Cabbage Patch Kids may not be as loved or desired as they were when they came out in the 70s, kids still adore them. With their button noses and soft bodies, they are a treat for kids of any age, and when kids outgrow them, they save them as collectibles.

If your child’s birthday is close to Halloween, a good craft idea for the party is for each child to make a Halloween outfit for her own Cabbage Patch – any child who doesn’t own one is free to make one for somebody else to give as a gift. Since you want the girls to make the costumes, choose something easy like a ghost, pumpkin, or devil rather than something elaborated like a bride or fairy. You may choose to recompense for the material as percentage of the party cost or you may ask each girl to fetch the amount of material that is necessary in order to make the outfit.

Booo!! (crunch, crunch…)

Unusual occurrences are becoming…well, *usual* in and around Bailey School. The third grade has a vampire for a teacher. A werewolf is the local camp counselor, and even Santa Claus has put in an appearance as the elementary school’s custodian. So, should it really be ALL that odd to find a potato chip-munching ghost at Aunt Matilda’s house??

Eddie & the gang are back in this, the 5th installment of the Bailey School Kids series. This time Eddie’s old Aunt Matilda is at home sick and Eddie’s mom has sent him over to tend to her. In addition to being a very grumpy, demanding old woman, her house appears to be haunted! Weird noises come from the creaky old attic, food left lying out is mysteriously eaten though no one is around, Aunt M. herself talks to her dead husband, potato chips fall to the ground and spell out mysterious words… Just what IS going on around here?? IS there a ghost in the attic??

Unlike the other Bailey School Kids books where the supernatural creature has a main role (vampire as teacher, leprechaun as basketball coach, etc), the ghost is not one of the main characters and seems to occupy the fringe of the story. This adds a note of realism to this series and makes it much more like a traditional ghost story (that is, creepy!). While not as outright scary as other books in the intermediate horror/spooky genre, “Ghosts Don’t…” is a departure from the more-amusing-than-scary books preceding this one. I still wouldn’t classify it as “horror” fiction, because while it does get creepy sometimes, it’s hardly horrifying.

It’s an easy read and catchy series. As an adult, I can finish off a Bailey School Kids book in about 20 minutes and have found myself working my way steadily through the series (reviewing most along the way). They’re fun and quick, and hence even children and students who don’t usually read find themselves easily reading them cover-to-cover.

Do Ghosts Eat Potato Chips?

This book is about a boy named Eddie and his friends Howie, Lisa

and Melody who have to help take care of his great aunt

Malthida. They do not want to do it because they think she is

mean. She is sick and Eddie’s Grandma wants him to help her out.

The first day they got to her house they bring her some food

to eat that Eddie’s Grandma had made for her. On that day that

they went, Howie who likes to eat potato chips saw a ghost in

the window of Aunt Mathilda’s house. Eddie told his friend that

there is no such thing as ghosts.

The next day all the kids went back to Aunt Mathilda’s house

to bring her some more lunch to eat. It was cold so they had to

warm it up for her. While lunch was heating up Aunt Mathilda and

the kids played poker. She played really good. They played to

long that lunch burned. Since lunch had burned they got her some

fast food for lunch. Some potato chips came with her lunch and

while they sat at the table eating and talking the potato chips

disappeared. When they got back to her house they gave her the

lunch and she said she liked it. While the kids were there she

got sick and had to go to the hospital.

While Aunt Mathilda was in the hospital the kids went to the

house to prove that there is no such thing as ghosts. The

electricity went out because of a storm so they couldn’t see

very well in the attic. They saw a big trunk that looked like a

coffin. The kids all opened it at the same time and found Uncle

Jasper’s hat and what else do you think they found? You will

have to read this book to find out what they find.

I really did like this book because I like Bailey School Kids

books.

Ghosts Don’t Eat Potato Chips is a very good book! It is about a mean old lady who lives in an old run down house in the present. Her nephew’s name is Eddie, and Howie his best friend. His grandfather died in his attic. When Eddie was walking to his grandmother’s house, he was walking past Howie’s house. Howie came out and said, “Can I come?” “Yes Howie,” I said. When they got there, the house looked so creepy they did not want to go in. Will they ever stop being so selfish? Howie spilt his chips on accident. When he went to pick them up, they spelled A-T-T-I-C and when he looked in the attic window, there was a man. He turned around to tell Eddie. They looked and he was gone. This is a very good book, and I would recommend that you read it.It is mysterious.
