Now that you have your idea it’s time to flesh it out. Don’t worry with regards to the engineering science or the fact that you may not know how to actually implement a game just yet, just grab yourself a lot of paper and a pencil and go crazy with ideas. Describe the main characters, game play, goals, interactions, story, and key mappings, anything you may think of. Make sure you have sufficient detail so that somebody may read through the notes and play through the game in their head with relative accuracy. Some of them still require you to learn a ‘scripting language’ (a simplified programming language made for a specific task) but in frequent this isn’t too elaborated or involved. This book now in the bargain bin, is worthwhile at that price if not for ButterflyNet, whose website seems permanently out of action, and for which you have to pay I think anyway, but for it’s lucid coverage of the opensource game engine CrystalSpace substantially adding to the official documentation. Half the book is devoted to it, 2D games, 3D games with QuakeModel files loading and incorporation of QT3 GUI using solid object-orientated programming all the way. The rest of the book is worth a skim anyway, indicating the objects and patterning used to enable the connection of CrystalSpace for multiplayer use from a dedicated server.

Great console to take when vacationing….

If you can’t afford one of the handhelds but need to have some fun when you stay in places like hotels, etc. take this with you. It doesn’t take much room and it works with most televisions nowadays. Anything with a video-in can take this. The games (a total of 5 very addictive mini-games) will entertain you for hours. It is also very durable, I got mine about 6 years ago and it just died on us; might get a new one soon. We used it a lot and was kept in a junk drawer when not in use (it held on pretty good through two house moves). When you use it, make sure to have a set of four fresh AA batteries as it will use up quite a lot of battery power, but if you have a battery recharger and 4 spare batteries; chances are you’ll always have a spare set ready by the time the first one runs out.

The supercharged edition only have more items

Just in case you wonder if it’s another collection, it’s the same metal cars as in the “normal” or regular edition. It’s only from another country or provider (I guess). But they have the brilliant idea to develop more cars from the movie. Well, not more cars but more variant models. For example, they have this version of McQueen (as it looks in the last part of the movie). They have the first Mater (not the re-colored one from the bowling game) with the complete nose (you get that), Dirt mcqueen (like the one from one track game), Hudson hornet! yellow ramone.

I has uploaded the back cover of the box just for your entertainment. It has the whole catalog!

In Peru it costed me $9 each but they are so hard to get. As it happened here they just disappeared from the regular stores.

I bought these for my 5 year old son who is a huge Car’s fan. He was using matchbox cars and pretending that they were Lightening McQueen and friends, but when he recieved the set of these he was so excited. These cars are larger than matchbox cars, and are heavy for their size, good quality!! Great for the Car’s fan in your life.

My 2 year old boy just loved the movie Cars, and he also loves Hot Wheels, and when I saw these I knew he had to have them!!

They’re not actually hot wheels, but about the same size.

He adores them, and plays with them every day. I would love to get him all of the cars in the set.

He is also very rough with his toys, and they are in great shape.
